July 7

Today Mommy watched a friend of hers little boy Skylar for the first time. He will be coming over to play at our house every Monday and Tuesday this month. They had a great time playing cars, connect four (as seen above), trains, and playing outside.
Emma even enjoyed playing with Skylar today.
Today was also full of firsts for Skylar, he had his first Spagetti O's. He became acquainted with "the Chef." He is a lunchtime staple around our house. Skylar preferred his veggies and burger.
Here is Emma in her gown for bed. Daddy finished eating a popsicle and Emma decided that it would make a great toy.

Today we got up and went to church, well Mommy and the kids did and Daddy stayed home while the drywall guy came over and FINISHED the drywall! Now all we have to do is paint. After church we went over to Nana's to eat lunch and swim. Above is Ethan, once again, jumping off the diving board. He seems to really have a thing for this.
Like father, like son!
Aunt Jill and Bailey hanging around the pool.
Boy, Nana, you sure do have your hands full! Looks like Sean and Trystan are on their was to help, um, at least I think they are going to help, maybe not. Watch out Nana!
And then the game of chicken begins.
"Alright Daddy, you always tell me not to push my friends, now you want to push him off. I am really confused. Would you make up your mind."

July 5

Today we went over to our Great Aunt and Uncle's farm across the river to celebrate 4th of July. We had a good time and got to see some of our extended family that we don't see often. They had so much for the kids to do. They had cornhole, volleyball, horseshoes, golfing, swimming in the pond, and fishing for the older ones and power wheels, bubbles, lots and lots of toys, and a kiddie pool for the young ones. The picture above is of Ethan and our cousin Presley on the Gator.
Here is Emma in her 4th of July outfit. Everyone thought she was too cute, including Papaw Frank as he plants one on her head.
Here is Ethan trying out another one of the power wheels. He liked this one the best I think. There was also a pink Barbie one that he rode a lot because it had the strongest battery, I think that is because it was rode the least.
Here is Papaw Frank and Ethan digging up worms to go fishing.
There is Uncle Jimmy helping Brandon get a fish off the line.

Here is Trystan going off the diving board, which was quite high.
Daddy and Ethan also took their turns jumping into the water.
Everyone was really surprised at how well Ethan did in the water. They couldn't believe that he wasn't scared.

This video is of Ethan jumping off of the diving board.

4th of July

Happy 4th of July! This morning the drywall guy came over again and did some more work. He got here right before 8:00 am and all of our kids slept that late also so that was a nice gift. Mommy and Nana went out to lunch while the kiddos were napping and then after nap it was off to Kentucky Kingdom. the weather was a little questionable but it turned out great. There were hardly any people there and we only got sprinkled on for a few minutes. We went over the water park and even got a whole huge umbrella to ourselves, usually there are about 4 families crowded under each umbrella. We rode all of the rides that Ethan wanted to ride, some of them 2 or 3 times. Above is Mommy and Ethan on the merry go round. Trystan said that today was the best day of his life. One of the reasons was because they do Ohio Valley wrestling on Friday nights at Kentucky Kingdom and he got to meet a WWE guy and have his shirt signed.
Here are Daddy and Ethan on another merry go round.
This is a funny story. Mommy started to get Emma dressed while waiting to get on a ride with Ethan. The ride stopped and it was time to get on so Daddy took over dressing Emma. This is how she ended up. this outfit is on backwards!
After we got home and did baths, we lit some fireworks. Here are Daddy, Trystan, and Brandon doing some sparklers.
Here is Ethan doing a sparkler. He wasn't to sure about this.
Trystan commanding the snakes to rise.
After a few loud ones, Ethan wasn't so sure he really liked this anymore. Mommy ended up with both little ones in her lap.
Here is Bubby being the good big brother and holding Ethan's ears for him.

July 3

This morning we went up to church to help Ms. Peggy go through some VBS stuff and then went out to lunch at McDonald's with her.
Ethan loves climbing in the playground.
After naps, Ethan went to get a haircut, not too much cut off, just a trim. The picture above is of Emma getting Mommy's Diet Pepsi bottle. She seems to have a thing for playing with Diet Pepsi bottles. Tonight before bed, Ethan saw some people shooting off fire works. He got really excited and wouldn't stop talking about them. I can't wait to see what he does tomorrow and Saturday when we see more of them.

July 2

These are a few pictures of the progress in the basement. The drywall is all up and in the process of being "finished." This picture is of the family room from the bottom of the stairs.
This is one of the bedrooms, the one in the back that we are planning to use for an office.
This is the family room again but from the back corner.
This is the bathroom, (DUH, there is a tub here!)
This morning we had to take Emma to her 4 month check up. She is a big girl. She weighs 14 lbs. even and is 24 and a half inches long. She is 55% in both height and weight. She had to get 4 shots, poor baby. The picture above is of Ethan with his stickers from the Dr. She took him to go pick out some stickers while we were waiting for the nurse to come in and give Emma her shots. He put all there on his shirt. And if you are wondering what that is all over his face. Well, that is face meets concrete meets 2 year old that won't stop picking his boo-boos. He even wants to pick other people's boo-boos. He'll get you when you least expect it and come sneak up and yank a scab right off of you. Boy, it hurts. We are working on this.
After the Dr. we went to the zoo with Jamie, Bailey, and Aunt Jill. Here is Ethan checking out the tiger in the new exhibit.
After dinner we played out in the backyard. This is evidence that Ethan needs a haircut. I am going to call tomorrow and make him an appointment.
Here is Daddy holding Emma in the backyard. Notice all her band-aids from her shots. She had 2 in the left thigh, 1 in the right thigh, and 1 in the right arm. She looked like she was just in a battle.

Here is picture of Emma laughing as Daddy was pushing Ethan on the swing in the backyard.

July 1

Yesterday we didn't really do a lot besides hang out around the house and go for a walk. Ethan really likes riding his tricycle around the neighborhood. In fact, we did that again tonight. This morning we went to the park and met a few friends there. The picture above is of Ethan and Trystan playing on the slide.
Emma in her stroller at the park. She has a little bow in her hair that is a daisy. How cute???
Trystan and Ethan on the playground.
Update on the basement: Yesterday the guy started working on finishing the drywall. We hope to be able to paint next week. It is really coming along. I will put some pics up sometime this week. Mommy and Daddy spent quite some time down there yesterday also. Mommy cleaned and filled up 4 trash bags with junk and Daddy finished up all the little things that needed to be done for the drywall. There is a light at the end of the tunnel for this project!
