Halloween

We have had quite the busy past few days. Thursday night we went with Benjamin and Tracey to her mom's neighborhood to trick or treat.
This picture was actually from earlier. Mommy had a surprise for Ethan and Benjamin, bubble wrap. It was so much fun.
These pics are from today. Yes, I know, we are slackers and carved the pumpkin on Halloween.
This is from Thursday again, Ethan and Benjamin playing after trick or treating.
Emma enjoying a sucker.
Back to Halloween night. We started out by visiting Nana's house and trick or treating there.
Back to pumpkin carving. Here is Ethan getting the "guts" out of the pumpkin. He didn't like this so much.
Emma dove right in though. Her only problem was keeping her from eating everything. She managed to get a hold, in her mouth, some of the newspaper, some pumpkin guts, and even a seed which Daddy had to go fishing for.
Here is Ethan carving his little pumpkin. We had five pumpkins to carve.
Mommy and Emma trick or treating at the Thompson's.
Uncle Griffin and Bailey trick or treating.
Our cousin Joe and his baby Dane came to our neighborhood also. Dane is a few months younger than Emma and he was a penguin this year.
Here are all three of the kiddos in their costumes ready for some candy.
After everything finally settled down at our house, we hit the road again and went to Mamaw Ann's to trick or treat.
Since we are always out trick or treating with our little ones, Papaw Butch volunteers to come pass out candy at our house. Our neighborhood is a local hot spot on Halloween and we have been known to go through more than 15 bags of candy in one night. Papaw likes to dress up for the occasion. He is Elvis with a mullet here.
About half way around our circle, which is over a mile long, Ethan started to get grouchy and tired so Mommy tried to cheer him up by wearing his race car helmet which he wouldn't wear. Mommy was pretending to race around him.
Jamison and Ethan waiting somewhat patiently for someone to answer the door.

October 26

Friday night we went to Monster Jam and Ethan thought that it was the best thing ever. It was really really loud but we had our man muffs so we were fine. This truck is called monster mutt and it is driven by a girl. She is the Mommy of a 3 year old little boy. Apparently his Daddy also drives monster trucks. Ethan would think that Daddy and Mommy were really cool if we did that for a living. Hey, maybe that is just the career change that we need!
Here is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Ethan just called him teenage turtle. He was the first one to come out and the cars were still recognizable as cars at this point.
This was when all 8 monster trucks reved up their engines at the same time and it was really loud. Ethan was trying really hard to be brave. He said that he wasn't scared.
This is Taz doing donuts in the donut competition. You can see what some of the cars now look like after being crushed numerous times.
Ethan clapping along to "We will rock you."
Emma has really learned to adapt to Ethan and all of his hobbies. She has just learned to sleep through loud engines with her man muffs on while in the moby wrap.
If you ask Ethan which monster truck is his favorite he will tell you all of them but if you ask him which one he likes the best he will say "the grape digger." Of course he has to like the one that has skulls all over it and is scary. He has come a long way though because when we first got the Halloween decorations out, he wouldn't let Mommy get anything out that had skeletons on it. We only have pumpkin and ghost decorations this year. Now he is ok with Trystan's costume which has a skull for a head and he likes the grave digger.
Saturday afternoon, Mommy and Trystan went to see High School Musical 3. He really liked it. Mommy thought that is was pretty cute also. After that we went out to Kentucky Kingdom for fright fest and ran into the Callihan's there. Here are Ethan, Julia, Kat, and Amy singing the Wheels on the Bus at karaoke.
Trystan and Ethan riding, of course, the race cars. Ethan is a race car driver for Halloween after all.
Mommy couldn't resist putting this picture up. The Daddy's and their matching strollers. Aren't they just so cute.
Daddy and Emma, our little flower, coming down the slide.
These pictures really got out of order some how. This is Ethan playing the guitar today after church. Mommy and Daddy shampooed the carpets and so everyone kept getting stuck in different rooms of the house and not able to leave that room. This was our entertainment in the living room before everyone got booted out of there. The carpets really look nice though.
After Kentucky Kingdom, Clay, Amy, Julia, and Kat came over to play. We ate pizza and the big kids played rock band.
Daddy took this picture of the Callihan crew while we were all on the ferris wheel.
Daddy and the kiddos riding the monster trucks. Emma was ready to climb out. Ethan really wanted to ride this one in honor of Friday night.

October 19

This morning, Mommy and the kids slept in before getting ready for church. Unfortunately this didn't last long because as you can see, Ethan's eyes are open and he is ready to go.
After church we went to Hubers to get pumpkins and eat lunch with Nana and Uncle Griffin and Aunt Jill. Daddy and Ethan took time to play paintball.
Ethan also rode the cow train. Last year Daddy had to ride with him but he is a big boy now and flying solo.
Jamie and Ethan going down the big slide. They really had a good time.
It looks here like Jamie is trying to catch Ethan as he comes down the slide.
The boys going on the tractor ride to feed the goats.

Ethan and Trystan picking out pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. They had much bigger ones here than they had last night.
All three of them on the tractor. Watch out, Ethan is behind the wheel.
Again on the tractor but this time Trystan and Emma are driving.

October 18

This picture was from tonight at slow poke farm. We went there with our sunday school class and had a really great time. Here was Emma inside of Mommy's coat in the moby wrap. It got a little chilly when the sun went down.
This picture was from Wednesday afternoon. Tracy's friend Vince was working up the street from us and had a bulldozer and a dump truck there. He called to see if we wanted to bring the boys to come sit on the dump truck and bulldozer. This was them walking down the street. How sweet!
Here they are up inside the bulldozer. He offered to take them for a ride in it but they were both too chicken!
This is how Mommy found Emma on Wednesday after she woke up from her nap. She is finally out of being swaddled and she has started to stand up. I know, I need to take the mobile out now. She pulled all of the toys off of it.
Thursday night, we went to the zoo for trick or treating. Here Ethan was trying to figure out who was talking to him from in the bushes. They had a recording playing with people saying "Boo" and "hey you, yeah you in that costume. Over here" He was really trying hard to figure this out.
Here he is climbing on the hay in the little hay maze.

Ethan the race car driver and Emma the flower.
Here are Ethan and Benjamin with the characters from Peter Pan.
Here are Ethan and Emma trick or treating. Daddy is really excited because he wants to eat all of Emma's candy this year.
This was Emma's favorite treat. The sixlets wrapper. Of course Daddy had already eaten the candy. She just wanted to chew on the wrapper and she threw a fit when Mommy tried to take it away.
Ethan and Emma with Princess Fiona from Shrek.
Ethan and Benjamin with Donkey.
These pictures were from today at Slow Poke Farm. Here we are on the hay ride to go to the corn maze.
Here are Ethan and Benjamin in the corn field.
Here is Ethan feeding the cow some corn. He really like this.
I think that the cows liked this activity also. This cow gave Ethan a real "cowlick" he licked Ethan's head. I guess either he was really hungry or Ethan's hair tasted really good.
Ethan in the pumpkin patch picking out tiny pumpkins. They were all really small but they are small kids so it all worked out.
Mommy and Emma all snuggled up in the pumpkin patch.
Mommy, Daddy, Ethan, and Emma in the pumpkin patch.
Below is a picture of Ethan in the petting zoo checking out the little pigs.

This video was from Thursday night at the zoo. They have an area where they play disco music and people stop and dance for a while. Well, not everyone stops and dances but Mommy and the kids always do!
This is a video of Ethan feeding the cows at the farm.
