May 31

This morning while Daddy was working in the basement and Emma was sleeping, Mommy and Ethan got out his pool and all his water toys and cleaned them. He had fun playing in the freezing cold water.
Here he is going down the slide in his pool.
Later that evening, we went over to Nana's house and swam in the pool with Uncle Griffin, Aunt Jill, Bailey, and Tracy and Benjamin.
Here is Ethan and his buddy Benjamin on the steps in the pool. Last year, Ethan was a little water bug but he hasn't adjusted to the water yet this year. He needs to remember that he likes it. Right now he just wants to hang out on the steps.
Here is Emma hanging out by the pool with Mrs. Tracy.
And last but not least, Trystan doing some sort of dive into the water. I think that everyone had a great time enjoying the beautiful weather.

May 30

Today was Trystan's last day of school and they had an awards ceremony. Trystan won an honor roll award and an award for the prettiest Julliett in the school play.
Here he is with Mrs. Bitz his homeroom teacher as she presented him with his award.
After the ceremony, we took Ethan to the fire station. The fire department is celebrating 150 years of service here and they were having open house today where people could come see the houses and the trucks. As soon as we got there, the fire chief came out and spoke to us and then a bell began to ring. The firemen all had to rush out on a run.
Here are the boys watching the truck speed off. Ethan still thought it was cool, even if only for a second.
When the fire truck idea flopped, we decided to head across the street to the park. Here is Ethan playing in the water. As you can see, Kat is not a big fan on the water parks.

Ethan loves running around and playing in the water.
Here he is again in the water, tongue hanging out and all.
Trystan won a bowling party at school and wanted to celebrate summer. Him and 8 of his friends went bowling after school today.
Ethan bowled also. I think he won highest score, the bumpers had nothing to do with that either.
Trystan is giving it his all.
Grandpa Greg was spending some quality time with Emma while the boys bowled.
Kyle was also a big winner at the bowling alley tonight. Here he is ready to throw another stike.

May 29

Today we went to Kentucky Kingdom after Trystan got out of school. He is very excited because today was his last full day of school. Here is a picture of him and Ethan riding on the race cars. I think that this is Ethan's favorite ride because he talked about it the rest of the night. He said that it is fun because it goes really fast around the corners. Obviously this ride doesn't scare Trystan!
Ethan and Julia visiting with the characters.
This was Ethan's first time on the swings. He rode them twice, once alone and once with Julia.
One happy family!
Bathing Beauty! Emma's first time in the pool.
Emma and Ethan playing in the water. He really looks like he is teaching her about something. And she is really paying attention. This could be dangerous later.
We also rode 2 laps on the lazy river. For the first lap, Mommy had Ethan and Emma both on her tube, then Ethan jumped ship and rode with Daddy for lap number two.

May 28

Today Aunt Jill, Jamie, and Bailey came over and we went to lunch at McDonald's and played on the playplace. Later we went to church for the church wide picnic, one of many summer social events that take place. Here is a picture of the girls and thier mommies watching the boys play.
Ethan and Jamie played cornhole. I am not sure that they really got the whole concept though.
The boys playing cornhole with their daddies. "Here Daddy, let me help you with that!"
Mrs. Amy wanted try "wearing" Emma. Kat needed to get her Emma fix in also.
Ethan had a great time playing in the dirt. He even ate some of it. He said that it tasted good and he "ate it all gone." That sure would be a whole lot of dirt to eat all gone.

May 27

For the past few days, Mommy and Daddy have been working in the basement building shelves. Here is a picture so far. 60 some feet of shelves seems to be filling up quite quickly.
Today we didn't do a whole lot. Mamaw Ann came over to watch Ethan and Emma while Mommy went to work for the last day, only until 12:30 though. Later that evening Mommy and Emma went to Babies R Us with our friends Kathy and Ellie to shop for a shower gift and left the boys home. Daddy took Ethan to Lowe's and they made a pit stop at Toys R Us. Ethan bought some cars and ramps to play with. Here he is showing off his new toys. Ethan had heard Mommy say that she was going to Babies R Us and he jumped at the chance and thought that she meant Toys R Us. It is amazing how kids can learn what that place is all about so soon.
At Babies R Us Emma got a princess book. Here she is showing off her new toy.
This is a video of Emma playing with her froggie toy on her car seat. She was laughing so much that it almost sounded like she was crying. How cute?

May 26

We spent our Memorial Day by the pool. Mamaw Ann cooked lunch for us and we went over to Grandpa Greg's and ate and swam in the pool. Here is Trystan taking a dive. He was in the pool almost the whole time we were there. The pool is heated so the water was 80 degrees but it was a little chilly outside and very windy so it felt cold.
Mamaw Ann holding Emma by the pool. Mamaw's real name is Emma also, Emma holding Emma.
Here is Ethan by the pool, not in the pool. He begged Mommy to get in, after I had already taken my suit off. Mommy of course is a sucker so I changed again and got in. He wanted me to go off the diving board so I did. Then he wouldn't get in with me. What a stinker.
He did enjoy driving the fire truck though.
Here are Daddy and Emma, isn't her little halter dress cute? Mommy is finding out how much fun little girls are to dress, especially little summer outfits.

May 25

We went to church this morning where they had a Memorial Day service and the Lord's Supper. We also put Emma in her own Sunday School class for the first time. We got her out for the service though. She also slept in her own bed last night for the first time (she had been in the bassinet.) She is getting too big too quick. She will be 3 months old on Tuesday. Where has the time gone? After church we went to Six Flags with Grandpa Greg, Garrett, and Sean. Above is a picture that Mommy took of Trystan and Garrett getting off of Grease Lightning. Mommy and Ethan were riding the Tin Lizzy's when Mommy took this picture.
Here are Daddy and Ethan riding the hot air balloons.
Ethan loved flying the airplanes. Mommy wasn't as thrilled because that gun on his right side made quite a loud annoying sound.
Ethan taking Daddy for a spin in the yellow monster trucks. Of course he wanted to ride in the yellow one. That is his favorite color.
Look at that concentration as he drives. He is trying to make sure that his car doesn't make that same sound that daddy's makes on Palatka when you run off of the road.
Mommy, Ethan, and Emma on the carousel. This is Emma's first ride.
Daddy and Ethan on the roller skate. It is a kiddy roller coaster. Ethan said that he was not scared, but that it went really fast.
We really wore Ethan out today because he didn't have a nap before we went to Kentucky Kingdom. He said that he really had a good time though.
After we got home, mommy and Emma went to the grocery while Daddy and Ethan took Trystan his clothes so he could stay the night with Garrett. Then it was off to bed for 2 tired kiddos. Here is Daddy reading a good night story to both of them. They both look so engrossed in this story.

May 24

Yesterday was Mommy's last day of school, with kids, and that was great! We celebrated by going to Lowe's and buying some building materials for the basement and to Target to buy some totes for organizing all our stuff. Today we went back to Lowe's and bought more building materials and stayed up until 1 am building Mommy lots of shelves in the basement for storage in the unfinished part (about 60 feet of shelves to be exact.) During the day we had fun though. We went over to Nana's to visit with her before she leaves for work in Daytona Beach for 2 weeks. Don't we feel sorry for her. Here she is above helping Ethan put his swimmies on so he could get in the pool.
This is Mommy and Emma lounging by the pool. We took her swimming stuff but it was still a little chilly for her in the water.
Here is Ethan on his "boat" in the water. Leave it to him to pretend that everything is some sort of transportation vehicle. He was a little slow to take to the water today because he hasn't been swimming since last summer.
Daddy finally got him to go for it. It will all come back to him now.
