June 20

This morning, Mommy had to take Trystan to the doctor and Ethan and Emma stayed home and played with Mamaw Ann. Ethan woke up at 6:00 this morning so he went down for a really early nap (10:45) and then also woke up really early. He was just ahead of schedule today. We were going to go to Kentucky Kingdom but the weather didn't agree with that plan so Mommy decided to spend some one on one time with her kiddos. We started with Ethan today since Trystan had Kyle over. Mommy took Ethan to see the movie Kung Fu Panda. This was Ethan's first time in a movie theater and he did pretty good. He sat through all but the last 15 minutes. We left a little early and then went to Toys R Us. Emma went up to church to play with Ms. Peggy while Mommy and Ethan had their date

Tonight while Mommy was giving Ethan and Emma their baths, she asked Ethan "how did you get to be so precious." His conditioned response is "I got it from my Mommy." He thought about this for a minute then said "don't say I'm a little tud." I thought that tud was tired. Well he repeated this again then I caught on that he was saying TURD. I asked him where he heard that and he said "Daddy says I'm a little turd. Don't say that Mommy!" Mommy had to inform Daddy that Ethan was on to him now.

June 19

Today Amanda and Elias came over to visit with us. Emma and Elias are 2 weeks to the day apart from each other. (Mommy's first born and Amanda's first born also have birthdays 2 weeks to the day apart, but they were born in different years, pretty cool!) We all went on a walk and Ethan rode his tricycle around the circle again. He did pretty good.
After dinner, Mommy took the kids to the zoo and we met up with Nana. She had Garrett, Sean, and Jamie with her. Here are Jamie and Ethan going down the slide, together.
Here is Ethan breaking another splash park rule and going down the slide on his belly. Thursday nights in the summer are member nights and they have free train rides so we also rode the train, twice. We got caught out in a storm and that wasn't so fun. Mommy got really wet loading everyone into the car in a downpour.

June 18

Today Mommy got up and went to Louisville Stoneware to finally pick up Emma's birth plate and then to the hospital to visit her cousin Joe and Meredith and their new baby Joseph Dane. Congratulations to the new happy family. Mamaw Ann came over to play with Ethan and Emma while Mommy was out. Daddy kissing Emma, aren't they sweet? (Side note, Daddy wasn't working on the basement, what is going on? Well, he started drywall today and things seem to be going pretty good so he took a little break to spend some time with his children who have been missing him a lot lately!)
This is the outfit Emma wore today. Mommy loves it because the bow matches to perfectly. Mrs. Tracy couldn't believe that my GIRL was wearing blue. I assured her that is was only because it was a dress and had a very cute bow to match.
Ethan wore a pull up today. No success on the potty though. He is totally not interested. These are even the "cool alert" ones. He peed in them and when I asked him if it was cold, he said yes but didn't seem to care (I felt the outside and it seemed cold so I know the inside must really be against bare skin!)
After dinner, Mommy and the kids wanted to get out of the house for a little bit while Daddy was hanging some drywall so we went to visit Jamie and Bailey. Here the girls were playing in the floor.
And playing with the learning table.
The boys were playing Mario Cart. This game is really cool and we may need it soon! Mommy even liked it.

June 17

Here are a few pictures of the progress in the basement. It is really coming along. Insulation is up and next is drywall. The above picture is of the family room in the far back corner.
This one is of the area right at the bottom of the stairs.
This is the back of the family room also. In the corner is the doorway to the office.
Today was a pretty slow day. We got up and stayed around the house this morning. We went outside to enjoy the nice weather and pulled some weeds then went for a walk/bike ride. Ethan rode his tricycle around the whole circle (over a mile) while Mommy walked with Emma in the Moby and Trystan rode his bike. Ethan did really good. He went too fast down the hill and Mommy had to run after him with Emma while wearing flip flops but other than that, it was great. After our walk, Ethan had a hard time going to sleep. 10 minutes laying on the couch with Mommy and out like a light (see pic above!)
Here is Emma in her "Daddy's Little Sweetie" outfit.
After Ethan woke up he wanted to snuggle. He snuggled with Mommy for a while and then Bubby took over so Mommy could get dinner on. Aren't they precious.

Not so precious now, we took the noodle out from his bed (it doesn't keep them from rolling off of the bed since it just rolls over to the side of the mattress.) He thought it would be fun to attack Trystan and Kyle with the noodle.
At bedtime, he wanted Bubby to get his pj's on him and read to him. He was having a Bubby day today.
Here is Emma zonked out in her bed, hand over her face and all. It had been a rough day for a little girl, huh?

June 16

Today started out rather rough but we headed out for the zoo anyhow. As soon as we loaded up the car, it began to rain, then pour and thunder. It turned out to be great weather though and it kept most people away so we really had the zoo mostly to ourselves for a while. We played at the water park for a while, then ate lunch and saw some animals. Ethan was a little disappointed because the train wasn't running though. I was disappointed because a lady at the bottom train station sold us a ticket for the train and we waited there for about 20 minutes (Ethan wanted to keep waiting) before we decided to try to front station. On our way out we stopped at the station and they informed us that the train wasn't running today. I would just like to know why someone was selling tickets to the train if the train wasn't running today. I didn't complain to much but I did say that someone should tell her to stop selling tickets. We also got our money back for our ticket. Other than that, we had a great day.
Here are Ethan and Julia going down the slide together.
Ethan, Julia, and Brody playing in the baby area.
They really liked this spout of water.
It was Emma's nap time and she is my little sleeper. Any place any time.
The animals were also very active today. The gorillas were running around and playing a lot. They were chasing each other and splashing in the water. It was really neat.

June 15 Happy Father's Day!

Saturday was a pretty lazy day. For breakfast, Ethan helped Mommy make home made doughnuts. That was in honor of Bubby who had been at camp all week and it is his favorite. After breakfast, Daddy went with Brian to help him take down a pool at Amy's and that turned into an all day adventure. Later we went out to the mall to get our Father's Day presents and then came home and got ready for bed.
Sunday was much more exciting. After church, we went to see the Dad's. Above is the picture of Emma in her cute little sundress with matching bow. In honor of Father's Day, Daddy had some exciting things happen. First of all, he got to do the hammer dance. Ethan picked out a card that played "You can't touch this" for him. Then he was able to get Ethan to swim more at Nana's house. Finally, Emma hadn't pooped in days, many days, and was having belly issues. Mommy went to the store to get some prune juice and while she was gone, Daddy called and very happily announced that she had pooped. She made him a Father's Day present. For once, we were excited to have to change a poopy diaper. She feels much better now.
Our first stop was at Nana's to visit with Grandpa Greg. Each time we go swimming, Ethan opens up more and more to the water. Today he went all the way. Here he is jumping off the diving board to Daddy.
Then he decided to jump off all by himself.
He even was swimming around the pool all by himself.
Here are Mommy and Emma as we finished up some time in the water. She really liked the water.

Emma in her sunhat out by the pool.
Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's. Above is Papaw Butch (Mommy's Dad on the left), Papaw Frank (Mommy's Papaw) in the middle, and now Papaw Donnie (Mommy's uncle) on the right. Papaw Donnie is really not a Papaw yet in this picture but he will be at around 2:00 tomorrow when his son Joe and Meredith will be having their first child, his first grandchild.
Here is Ethan getting in the hot tub, yes we are aware that it is 90 degrees outside. By the way, this is not a hot tub but a warm tub. Ethan is not going to be any part of anything that is hot so to get him to get in it the first time, we called it a warm tub and the name has stuck. He still says "I wanna get in the warm tub!"

June 13

Today was a big day for all in our household. Trystan came home from camp and seemed very excited. He had a great time. All the counselors said that he was really living it up, I am quite sure a week without parents will do that to you. This morning Mommy was doing a little laundry and left Emma on her playmat in her room while she went downstairs to put a load in the dryer. Emma was on her back when Mommy left. The picture above is what Mommy came back to find. Emma rolled front to back about a week ago but Mommy thought that it was just because she was on a soft surface. Apparently she is just getting bigger and Mommy doesn't want to acknowledge it. Bittersweet!
Ethan helped Mommy pull weeds in the front flower beds this morning before it got too hot. He was such a big helper. Later in the evening, Mommy went out to dinner with some of her friends and then back to Ms. Peggy's house (our children's minister) to watch a chick flick.
